The “Top 10” most innovative technology companies are chosen from among TAG’s “Top 40” 2016 list and were chosen based on a number of criteria, including: degree of innovation; scope and financial impact of innovation; likelihood of success; and promotion of Georgia’s innovative efforts nationally and internationally.
Pointivo creates dimensionally accurate 3D models of any environment using any video from any camera, smartphone or drone – no laser scanners or special hardware required. Pointivo is poised to disrupt multiple industries with its innovative technology.
By enabling the commercial construction industry to drastically simplify their very manual and expensive 3D modeling process, Pointivo reduces costs and provides its customers with a technological competitive advantage. Flooring installers can also save time producing digital models automatically for design and estimation. Through the use of drones, roofing contractors can stay off roofs to reduce injuries and saves lives. In the future, Pointivo will empower homeowners to measure and model their homes for renovation projects, tasks which often require a contractor visit. This will reduce errors and build brand loyalty with the home improvement stores with which Pointivo works.
“The Top 10 awards are given to an elite group of companies whose products and solutions are not only changing their respective industries, they are also putting Georgia on the map as a state where technology innovation can thrive,” said Tino Mantella, president & CEO of TAG. “These companies, which represent a number of verticals, demonstrate the strength of Georgia’s technology industry. Their innovations will continue to have a significant impact for many years to come.” said Dennis Zakas, chairperson of the Top 40 Selection Committee.
